3D Stained glass sculpture - Non functional.
Materials - Stained glass, copper foil, solder, glass nuggets, copper tube, lead strips.
Designed and handmade by me, using the copper foil method. I made the two sides first, so the design and desired textures were facing out, for each side.
I then added the bottom and the side strips, one at a time, to build up and add strength to the sculpture. I added 1/4" copper tube to support the circular openings within each side.

Artist Statement
One of the most exhilarating parts of my artistic journey is the challenge of constantly pushing myself to come up with new and innovative ideas, and then bringing them to life through my designs.

My stained glass art is a reflection of my passion for creativity, my love for the artistic process, and my eagerness to explore and experiment with various elements. Through my work, I aim to create interest, inspire curiosity, and share the joy of artistic expression with others.

I've made 12 large 3D sculptures. Because they are freestanding, they look beautiful in any setting and from any angle.

By incorporating copper tubes to provide support for the openings on the sides of this sculpture, I aimed to create a piece that defies conventional expectation and engages the viewer with its unique structure. In one section, I soldered thin strips of repurposed lead, while on the other side, glass nuggets add an unexpected touch of texture and visual interest. I have always been drawn to open spaces in my artwork, as they allow for exploration and a sense of freedom. In this sculpture, the open areas emphasize that this piece is not meant to hold water like a vase, but it is a unique, stand alone art piece.
