Dianne Sonnenberg is an Indigenous (Anishinaabe) artist born in Toronto, Ontario, currently based in Austin, Texas. She is a proud member of Rama First Nation. Her work has attracted international attention through numerous awards, exhibits, and symposia, including “Best Architectural Mosaic” at the 2010 Mosaic Arts International Exhibit in Chicago, IL, and most recently in the 2023 Simposium Internacional de Mosaico in Rosarito, Mexico as one of 12 selected international artists, representing Canada. Her work is exhibited in public and private collections worldwide.
Dianne holds memberships with the Society of American Mosaic Artists, Mosaic Artists of Canada, Ontario Mosaic Artists, the Texas Society of Sculptors, the Austin Mosaic Guild, & The Stained Glass Association of America. She is a faculty member at The Contemporary Austin Art School, past Artistic Director at The Austin School of Mosaic Art (2017-2019), and a Sponsored Project with Austin Creative Alliance, where she focuses on community-based projects.
